Terms of Service

Last updated: July 12, 2026

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FAQ Genie Shopify app ("the app", "the service"). By installing or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

2. The service

FAQ Genie builds store FAQs grounded only in facts you confirm — shipping time and cost, returns, cash on delivery, payment methods and warranty — and lets you publish that FAQ content, together with FAQPage JSON-LD structured data, onto a page of your Shopify online store. Answers are produced by a deterministic template engine from your own facts; the app never invents an answer, and a fact you have not set produces no FAQ. The app operates at Protected Customer Data Level 0 and never accesses orders, customers, or checkouts.

3. Publishing and control

Generated FAQs are drafts in your workspace until you publish them. On the Free plan, publishing to your store always requires your action. On the Pro and Scale plans, if you have already published your FAQ page, the app may automatically re-publish the refreshed FAQ set when your shop policies or settings change, so the live page stays in sync — this hands-off auto-sync applies only after you have already published once, it never publishes an empty set, and it depends on our worker service running. You remain responsible for the FAQ content that appears on your store and can edit facts, rebuild, or unpublish at any time.

4. No guarantee of results

FAQ Genie helps you publish clear, structured FAQ content. It does not guarantee any specific outcome. We make no promise of improved search rankings, increased traffic, higher conversion, citation by any AI assistant or search engine, appearance of rich results, or any other marketing result. Search engines and AI assistants control their own ranking and citation behavior, and Google retired FAQ rich results in 2026. The FAQPage JSON-LD is provided as an entity signal only.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Plans and billing

Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial; after it, subscriptions are billed through Shopify's managed billing in US dollars, on a recurring 30-day cycle:

Paid charges are handled by Shopify and appear on your Shopify invoice. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from within the app; cancellation stops future charges. Only rebuilds you start count against your monthly quota — automatic rebuilds (auto-sync on a policy change, and Scale's scheduled refresh) do not. Already published FAQ pages remain live if you reach your monthly quota — only new rebuilds are paused until the quota resets.

7. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular business result.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the total fees you paid us for the app in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination and changes

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin; uninstalling triggers deletion of your shop's data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. We may update these Terms or the service; material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
